- the Stumblng Tumblr thought he might try today, instead of a “Sydney, then and now”, an “out-of-Sydney, then and now”, the place out of Sydney being Cobbitty, a small village not very far to the south of Sydney
- the image you see above from here is entitled “English [ST: in other words, Anglican] Church, Cobbitty”; it’s undated, but an elderly parishioner at the church told the Stumblng Tumblr today that the fence shown in the image meant that the image was taken before 1894, when that fence was replaced by one of the type that exists presently; the church itself had been built in the early 1840s
- it was impossible for the Stumblng Tumblr to duplicate the above image today because of the growth of vegetation in the intervening 100+ years since the image above was created; here is the best that could be done in the circumstances:

- you may be able to recognise some features of the original image; for instance, you can just see the church steeple rising out of the palm tree towards the left in today’s photo; also, the tree to the right in the original seems to be the very tree to the right in today’s image; finally, you can easily recognise in the centre of the image some architectural decoration added to a corner of the building
- however, because today’s image isn’t a very obvious duplicate of the original, the Stumblng Tumblr adds from here another image of the church taken today:

- you can see from the image immediately above that the church hasn’t changed in substance since the original image above was taken
