due to a subsequent engagement (apologies to Oscar Wilde!), Milan lawyer, Gabriella (last name not given), couldn’t appear in court as she’d promised for clients who were defendants she decided to try to fulfill her obligation to her clients (and, entirely incidentally, no doubt, to preserve her entitlement to her fees) by surreptitiously sending her identical twin sister, Patrizia, to appear in her place one tiny problem—Patrizia wasn’t a lawyer; however, that didn’t stop Gabriella, after Patrizia had appeared, from charging the clients as if she’d appeared herself through means unspecified, the ruse was discovered (the means couldn’t possibly have been that Patrizia did a worse job than a trained lawyer would have, could they?) in any event, the clients are now suing both sisters for damages; they’re also both being prosecuted for fraud the story’s from here; the above image of Tweedledum and Tweedledee is from here ——
